Located in the immediate vicinity of Geneva Airport, Twinpark transforms a constrained site into a place of opportunity. Two twin volumes face each other and compose a protected core, creating a space of synergy dedicated to artisans and small industries. Their dialogue shapes a setting for activity where flexibility and ease of use guide the design: two stacked levels connected by a central ramp, easily divisible floor plates, and integrated logistics ensuring clear circulation from the basement to the roof. In addition, the roof level hosts a restaurant open to the public. Here, architecture frees up uses and encourages exchange.
The project’s identity is expressed through a committed materiality: vertical blades in recycled aluminium — sourced from the deconstruction of the nearby PAV district — wrap the volume constructed with recycled concrete, while the interior spaces are dressed in wood. Natural light, captured through large, glazed façades and skylights, reveals the depth of the spaces while ensuring comfort for the users. On the roof, vegetation and photovoltaic panels coexist within a sustainable approach where every resource is valued; from reuse of rainwater and excavated soil to on-site energy self-consumption.
