Located in the city center, near the train station, the Mont Blanc Centre is an iconic complex designed by the Geneva architect Marc-Joseph Saugey in the 1950s, including the famous Cinema Plaza Geneva. Its strategic position at the heart of Geneva makes it a true landmark in the city’s urban landscape. Furthermore, as a historic building listed as heritage since 2019, it holds major significance in the preservation of Geneva’s rich architectural heritage. It is here that Mangeat Wahlen Architectes chose to establish its offices.
Even before passing through the entrance door, a planter immediately stands out—an important element along the sequence of landings throughout the building—which has been carefully restored and contributes to the distinctive quality of the entrance landing. Once inside, the offices are organized around a generous collective space that structures circulation and offers varied viewpoints thanks to the through-plan layout of the floor plate. Custom oak furniture accompanies the visitor throughout the spatial sequence—from the reception desk to the library—forming a continuous thread across the office. The program is thus organized between reception areas, conference rooms, offices, and archives, forming a fluid and coherent whole.
