Located in the city center, close to the train station, the Mont Blanc Centre is an iconic complex designed by the Geneva architect Marc-Joseph Saugey in the 1950s, including the famous Plaza. Its strategic position at the heart of Geneva makes it a true landmark in the city’s urban landscape. Furthermore, as a historic building listed as heritage since 2019, it holds major significance in preserving Geneva’s rich architectural heritage. It is here that Fluxum chose to establish itself.
Fluxum is a foundation dedicated to dance, where architecture recedes to give way to movement. The plan, deliberately open, reveals the flexibility of the structure and is reduced to the essential: a central technical core, clad in metal grating with a deliberately industrial aesthetic, organizes the space without constraining its uses. Around this core, the dance studio opens widely onto the city; mirrored surfaces extend the gaze and reflect the urban landscape, creating the impression of dancing outdoors. The boundaries between interior and exterior blur, allowing a fluid space to emerge in which architecture supports the freedom of the body and movement.
