Goutte Saint-Mathieu

Goutte St Matthieu’s competition required a strong urban strategy to house educational and cultural programmes, including a high school, a professional training centre, a music school, and civic amenities.

FdMP imagined an island: a superstructure crossed by narrow pedestrian paths that would define urban squares and circulation flows, bridging adjoining districts. The typology voices a wish for communities’ cohesion. It provides a variety of experiences and connections between indoor and outdoor. From panoramic views of the countryside to walkways around the courtyards, the project sees insularity as an invitation to get away and share moments in a singular place.
