Le Signal

FdMP partnered with MVRDV to produce an office building with an innovative typology for the competition organised by the Swiss National Railways to arrange Montbrillant square in Geneva. Next to Cornavin train station, the project uses its complex site to define the building's imprint. It marks the urban landscape with a landmark form designated by distinctive sloped roofing. As its name suggests, Le Signal announces to travellers that they are entering Geneva's urban scene.  The structure strongly connects to neighbouring public spaces. Interior shared areas show on the building fronts making life inside and outside appear to one another—a visual continuity instilling a new city lifestyle.
