Longevity Housing is an intergenerational facility project located in Crans, in the canton of Vaud. It's a project dedicated to promoting the autonomy and independence of senior citizens, coupled with a range of service offerings and comfort, all while fostering generational diversity and synergy. The project consists of three buildings that blend residential units with public activities, designed around the symbol of immortality: the pinecone.
The shape and layout of the buildings contribute to the creation of spaces conducive to meetings and interactions. In close collaboration with a landscape architect, the outdoor areas are envisioned as meeting points for both residents and neighborhood inhabitants.
The new neighborhood plan integrates seamlessly into the existing urban fabric, serving as a transitional zone between urban density and agricultural land. The 57 units in Longevity Housing are adaptable over time and meet construction standards for accessibility. Through the use of natural materials, FdMP contributes to the creation of a new way of living for future seniors.
